ENTHUSE EDITORS & JOURNALISTS TO WRITE ABOUT ZAMBIA
Here, you can keep up to date with our media activities throughout the year.
Our target for coverage this year is £750,000, (with £400,000 of the amount dedicated to travel media). Pleasingly, the Zambia Marketing group initiative has already delivered £140,876 in the first couple of months. James Clark, who travelled to South Luangwa in October with us published why he thinks “South Luangwa is the best place for wildlife watching in the world” to regional newspapers across the UK.
This figure will continue to increase tremendously once we get figure back from the Zambia feature on ITV's leading morning TV shows earlier this month.
You can view our comprehensive list of coverage from Year 1, here >>>. Do note that in some cases, we convinced editors to bring forward planned coverage, as well as run additional feats on the back of advertising spend (especially the case with Travel Africa).
ZAMBIA MAKES A BIG SPLASH ON ITV
On Monday 25th June, the most watched breakfast show in the UK ran a live feature from Victoria Falls in Zambia, presented by Good Morning Britain's Andi Peters. He chose Zambia as the destination he'd most like to visit on the planet and he was seen broadcasting live in front of the iconic waterfalls at 06h58 and again at 08h15 BST.
When the programming switched to popular chatshow, "Lorraine", ITV again cut back to Andi live from Zambia at 08h57. Zambia appeared over 80 times across the following week on these two programmes, as well as “This Morning” with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. This will have generated an amazing £2,500,000 (approx.) worth of free coverage for Zambia!
In conjunction with a huge cash prize and the concept of using the cash to go anywhere in the world, presenter Andi Peters chose Victoria Falls in Zambia to showcase where he’d always wanted to go. The ITV crew shared their Zambian experience on their own personal social media accounts including Andi Peters, which in itself, is great exposure for Zambia; and it’s safe to say they loved every second of it!

ZMG's PR team have already sent Tamara Hinson to Kafue for the Daily Mail on 21st-28th June and have 5 media trips in the pipeline for the rest of 2018. The timing of the launch of ZMG, was mid-way through the media cycle and the main season in Zambia. So whilst we would have liked to generate editorial coverage immediately, we have seen that in some cases we have had to plan more long term.
